On Saturday, June 9, 2007, as part of the Third Quarterly Diocesan Convocation, six Short-term Missionaries were Commissioned and sent from the Diocese of the Southeast. Pictured are the Very Rev. Al Gadsden (rear), President of the Standing Committee, who was the Celebrant of the Commissioning; and in the front row (from left) are the Rev. John T. Wiggins, Kathy G. Moock, and Virginia Taylor. Three other members of the Diocese could not be present at the ceremony because of prior commitments taking them away from the lowcountry. They are Shedrick (III) and Elizabeth Barrow (and their infant son, Shedrick IV) and Nichole Dunmeyer. Members of the Standing Committee acted as Sponsors for the Candidates. The convocation and commissioning was held in the Chapel of the Cross, Kingstree, SC. The missionaries request prayer for them as they prepare to go on their Mission to Nigeria. God willing, they will leave on July 3rd and return on July 19, 2007. |
