Miriam West Joins Church Triumphant

On Thursday, September 6, 2007, about 5:00am, Miriam West, widow of the late Bishop James C. West, Sr., joined him and her Savior in His heavenly kingdom.  She had returned home to her house in Summerville this past Tuesday, and her son, Jay, as well as her faithful daughter, Candace, were home with her.  In recent weeks she had expressed the desire to "go home," from the rehabilitation center where she was.  Many of us who gathered with the family Thursday feel that, being back where her beloved Jim died last year, having family home with her, and having fought the good fight, she was now ready to go to her heavenly home.  There was a Vigil with the family on Sunday evening, Sept. 9, from 6:00-8:00pm in St. John's Church, 91 Anson Street, Charleston, SC.  Funeral was on Monday, Sept. 10, at 11:00am, also at St. John's Church.  Interment is in Sunset Memorial Gardens, North Charleston.  Arrangements were handled by Suburban Funeral Home, North Charleston.
